Toyota Australia launches new C-HR with unique jewellery collaboration

To mark the launch of the new C-HR SUV, Toyota has partnered with Australian jewellery designer Millie Savage and Heart in Diamond to create a capsule collection made from vehicle parts.

Savage has turned parts of what was once a Toyota C-HR into a collection of nine rings, one necklace, one bracelet, a pair of earrings, and a tooth grill.

The lab-grown diamonds, which took under four weeks to grow, were crafted specifically using carbon extracted from components of a pre-production C-HR.

Toyota Australia’s chief marketing officer, Vin Naidoo, says it was an opportunity for the brand to be part of something unique and innovative.

“This is an inspiring moment for Toyota Australia, working with Heart in Diamonds and Millie Savage to create this world-first collection using carbon sourced from the new C-HR – it is something we are proud to be involved in,” he says.

“The opportunity to collaborate with one of Melbourne’s independent jewellery designers in Millie Savage is a unique opportunity for Toyota Australia.

“Millie’s capsule collection is a chance for us to learn from, connect with local creatives and show how inspiration and creativity can be derived from anywhere,” he says.

Savage, who began her career by hand-making pieces in her garden shed and now has stores in Melbourne, Moorooduc, and London, said that she was immediately inspired when she saw the brief from Toyota.

“The concept of transforming something mechanical into something organic was a major inspiration,” she says.

“I focused on the sleek lines and design of the Toyota C-HR, infusing these elements into the jewellery pieces. The final products are bold yet refined, reflecting the car’s contemporary aesthetic and my style.”

Savage believes in using ethically sourced, high-quality materials, ensuring high craftsmanship.

The Toyota and Millie Savage jewellery collaboration will be available at www.milliesavage.com/collections/limited-edition-2024.
