On August 28, Mercedes-Benz dealer LSH Auto hosted the official launch of the smart electric vehicle brand in Australia at a media gathering at its Breakfast Creek dealership in Brisbane.

The new smart #1 and smart #3 EV SUVs are now available for sale and delivery in Australia. Both are available in Pro+, Premium, and BRABUS specifications.

The smart #1 Pro+ starts at $54,900, plus dealer delivery and on-road costs. The BRABUS version costs $67,900. According to smart Australia, the mid-spec Premium is expected to take the lion’s share of sales at $58,900.

The smart #3 Pro+ starts at $57,900, plus dealer delivery and on-road costs. The Premium starts at $61,900, and the BRABUS begins at $70,900.

“Utilising the power of the LSH Auto Australia brand, our renowned customer service excellence, and our links to both Mercedes-Benz globally and smart Automobile, we can deliver a seamless and premium start to smart ownership,” Head of smart Australia Michael Low says.

“Our three retail premises, our highly trained team who deliver a premium purchasing experience, and our successful retention programmes will make buying and owning a smart EV a pleasant and memorable experience, on par with purchasing a Mercedes-Benz vehicle. No other brand can offer that level of sophisticated customer care.

“These are the core competitive benefits we can offer those who will most likely embark on their first EV purchase. The quality of the LSH Auto Australia experience will be remembered throughout the ownership period, giving us a definitive edge over newcomers to the EV market,” Low says.

The smart #1 and #3 were awarded a five-star rating in the European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP) crash test.

Both vehicles must be serviced every 20,000km or one year (whichever comes first) and maintained by smart-appointed authorised dealers by the vehicle’s standard warranty terms and conditions.

Every smart vehicle includes a five-year or 150,000km (whichever comes first) warranty on materials and workmanship, starting from the date of first registration. It covers free vehicle repair and replacement of defective parts (excluding wear and tear items and accident repairs).

All smart vehicles come with a five-year or 150,000km ‘state of health’ or equal to 70% high-voltage battery warranty. This high-voltage core components warranty coverers the electric-drive motor, controller, and vehicle control.

All smart genuine parts and accessories also come with a two-year and unlimited mileage warranty.
