Tesla has extended its referral program to offer $1400 off the price of a new Model 3 or Model Y in Australia.
The offer applies to new customers ordering a car through a referral code sent to them by an existing Tesla owner, says The Driven, adding the move is designed to boost sales in the final weeks of 2024.
Tesla owners have shared the move on X (formerly Twitter).
Once new customers use the code, Tesla’s online configurator automatically applies the referral code to the total with the website order page saying: “X’s referral applied, order a new Model Y and receive: $1400 off of your vehicle subtotal”.
Referrers receive $700 in Tesla account credits for accessories, supercharger credits and towards other Tesla products.
The referral program extension comes days after multiple incentives appeared online to help the company have a strong finish to the year after a weak 2024 that has seen its Australian sales slump by 20% this year, says The Driven.
