The Sons of AnaCamry, aka JAX Tyres & Auto franchisee Peter Bonvino and his brother-in-law Nathan Metcalfe are tackling the 2024 Spring edition of the Shitbox Rally to raise funds for the Cancer Council.

The Shitbox Rally is a unique and adventurous fundraising challenge where participants drive cars valued at less than $1500 across Australia’s rugged terrain.

For the 2024 Spring edition, participants will travel from Bendigo to Townsville from October 18 to 26.

The Sons of AnaCamry are determined to complete the distance and plan to visit each JAX Tyres & Auto store along the route. Every donation made by those stores and customers will be acknowledged with a mention on their Shitbox vehicle, honouring those who have been affected by cancer.

Last year’s rally raised over $2 million for the Cancer Council, already surpassed in 2024, with $2,084,708 raised so far.

“Everyone has had someone in their life affected by cancer; I lost my mother-in-law,” Bonvino says.

“By participating in the Shitbox Rally, we can make a difference and support those who are struggling.

“We aim to cross the finish line while raising as much money as possible and enjoying the event as a team. I am especially looking forward to the dress-up days, so follow along and check out what we get up to and how much money we raise,” he says.

JAX Tyres & Auto Fairy Meadow franchisee Craig Daniel can’t participate this year but has sponsored a car to show his support.

“I’ve had a personal interest in the Shitbox Rally for a while. Seeing other franchisee owners get involved motivated me to join in. Although I can’t participate directly, we decided to get involved by becoming a sponsor. The whole JAX Fairy Meadow team is fully behind it, and we look forward to seeing our branded car in the Spring Shitbox Rally,” Daniel says.
