Ampol has unveiled six new AmpCharge EV charging bays at East Village Shopping Centre in Zetland, about 3km south of the Sydney CBD.

Installation of the first AmpCharge EV charging bays outside of Ampol’s retail convenience network is part of a partnership with Mirvac, announced in June last year.

The East Village bays are the beginning of Ampol’s planned rollout to third-party portfolio sites.

“The launch of our first ‘at-destination’ AmpCharge EV chargers at East Village is part of our ongoing commitment to supporting customers through the energy transition,” says Ampol commercial fuels and energy executive general manager Brent Merrick.

“Having just unveiled our 100th AmpCharge public charger bay, we recognise our electric vehicle charging ecosystem has the potential to play a critical role in supporting customers to reduce their transport emissions.”

Mirvac retail general manager Alison Flemming says the installation of the first AmpCharge EV charging bays at East Village Shopping Centre in Zetland is a huge milestone for the partnership.

“Since first installing charging capabilities in our retail centres over seven years ago, EV sales have continued to grow across Australia with more consumers embracing a sustainable future,” she says.

“As a result, we have seen a significant rise in the usage of our charging stations with a 60% increase in customer utilisation in the past year and charging bays often at capacity.

The AmpCharge bays offer 150kW super charging services.
