While marking its 50th year of local operations, Subaru Australia achieved significant growth across its SUV line-up in 2023 and was also the brand with the best-selling sportscar.

With a total delivery of 46,114 vehicles and year-on-year growth of 28%, Subaru’s SUV range – comprising the Outback, Forester and Crosstrek – played a pivotal role.

Notably, Outback and Forester led the charge with unprecedented volumes. The introduction of the new Outback XT turbocharged sales, contributing to a record annual total of 12,903 Outbacks delivered (up 32% year-on-year).

The Forester continued to be the most popular model in the Subaru line-up, with a new annual record of 16,381 vehicles finding their way into Australian driveways, resulting in a 54% increase year-to-date.

BRZ crowned Australia’s best-selling sports car

The Subaru BRZ has been crowned Australia’s best-selling sportscar for 2023.

More than 1,573 units of the second-generation BRZ were delivered in 2023 claim the number one spot ahead of the Ford Mustang, BMW 2 Series and Toyota GR86.

And the BRZ owner community continues to grow with 2023 being a record annual sales volume and marking an impressive 35% increase on the prior year.

The introduction of the tS model in January 2024 is poised to elevate the BRZ’s legacy further and continue to extend its appeal to a range of driving enthusiasts.

Subaru will also introduce its EyeSight® Driver Assist technology into the manual transmission BRZ models in 2024, amplifying safety and driver assistance features to complement the car’s performance and continue Subaru Corporation’s pursuit Towards Zero*.

“Thank you to our nationwide dealer network, who have been integral to delivering this success with their commitment and passion for supporting Subaru drivers,” Subaru Australia managing director Blair Read says.

The entire Subaru network is committed to providing outstanding vehicles that cater to a range of owners needs and adventures whilst providing confidence and security on all roads and in all conditions,” he says.
