The Chain Reaction Challenge Foundation charity rides, for both Sydney and Melbourne participants, have raised almost $2.4 million after seven days of riding around some of the most scenic landscapes of New Zealand’s South Island.
For the fifth consecutive year, Mercedes-Benz retail group LSH Auto Australia sponsored the vehicle support fleet for the participants and their bikes.
Both covered a course from Christchurch up into the Southern Alps, passing through majestic mountain passes, alongside stunning alpine lakes and through picturesque towns – and all the way to the famed New Zealand alpine playground, Queenstown.

The two charity rides brought the total raised to more than $39 million in aid for children’s charities since the challenge’s inception in 2007.
This year’s principal beneficiaries will be the Monash Children’s Hospital, The Starlight Foundation, So They Can – supporting young girls in Africa, and Baptist Care-Hope Street -supporting vulnerable communities.
