The Insurance Council of Australia (ICA) and insurers visit Moorooka and Sandgate in Brisbane on November 23 and November 24 respectively for meetings with flood-impacted customers.
A large number of claims include motor vehicles.
Further meetings are planned in New South Wales in Woodburn (November 28), Lismore (November 29) and Ballina (November 30), following a similar session in Rochester, New South Wales.
Customers can discuss their claims and work through any issues with their insurer.
This year’s floods across southeast Queensland and northern New South Wales (NSW) cost $5.56 billion, with at least 62% of more than 236,400 claims finalised from the severe weather event.
“It’s nine months since heavy rainfall and swollen rivers led to destructive flooding across Brisbane and southeast Queensland,” says ICA chief executive Andrew Hall, the ICA also noting a more recent flood in New South Wales which it has declared a “significant event”.
Appointments are essential and customers can click here to reserve their session.
The Lismore floods, which included vehicle yards, were recorded by the Southern Cross University there.
