Two special edition pink race helmets worn by Supercar drivers David Reynolds and Mark Winterbottom will be auctioned off after the Gold Coast 500 race weekend, with all proceeds going to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF).
The auction follows last year’s success, where Reynolds’ pink helmet raised $15,500 for NBCF after securing victory in the Gold Coast round.
The initiative hopes to surpass that amount this year, with Reynolds and Winterbottom’s uniquely designed Supercar helmets going under the hammer.

“It’s always a privilege to support the National Breast Cancer Foundation, and I’m proud to race with a pink helmet. Last year’s helmet raised over $15,500 for NBCF, and I hope this year’s auction will generate even more,” Reynolds says.
“Wearing a pink helmet for the Gold Coast 500 is very close to my heart. My mum passed away from breast cancer, so I know how devastating this disease can be. That’s why supporting the National Breast Cancer Foundation means so much to me, and I’ll be proud to wear this helmet as a tribute to her and everyone else who’s been affected,” Winterbottom says.
The two helmets have been designed and painted by helmet artist Trent Rogers of 6Star Custom Paint, serving the drivers as a safety device and a statement piece.
“We are honoured to support such a worthy cause in auctioning David Reynolds and Mark Winterbottom’s race helmets and raising funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation; these are special items,” Lloyds Auctions chief operating officer Lee Hames says.
“These helmets are already attracting a lot of attention from Supercars fans around the country; you don’t get an opportunity to own pieces such as these very often,” he says.
The auction will conclude on Monday, October 28, at 5 pm AEST, with all proceeds going directly to breast cancer research as an initiative by JAX Tyres & Auto.
