Hyundai Motor Company Australia (HMCA) and Europcar Mobility Australia have partnered to put hundreds of high-tech Hyundai EVs into Australian drivers’ hands.

About 270 Hyundai Ioniqs will be placed in Europcar locations across the country – 120 Ioniq 5 SUVs and 150 Ioniq 6 sedans.

The two EVs won consecutive World Car of the Year Awards in 2022 and 2023, also winning World Electric Vehicle of the Year and World Car Design of the Year in both years.

The Ioniq 5 and 6 EVs are available to rent from Europcar now and are also available to drive longer term via myEuropcar subscription (one, three, six or 12-month subscription).

“Europcar’s Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 placement is our biggest commitment yet to accelerate the take-up of EVs in Australia,” says Europcar managing director (Australia and New Zealand) Benoit Garel.

“Our research shows Australians are curious and willing to give EVs a go, and this placement will help break down some of the barriers that may be preventing them from making the switch.”

HMCA chief operating officer John Kett says: “Thanks to the Hyundai Mobility Division’s partnership with Europcar Mobility Australia, all Aussies now have easier access to Ioniq 5 and 6 on a short or longer-term basis and we’re excited about their newfound ability to give these cars a go.”
