Due to a lack of production of the popular two tone colour option for the Suzuki Jimny 3 door automatic, dealers have been asking customers if they would take a single tone car instead to expedite delivery.
Effective January 19, 2020 and until further notice, Suzuki Australia has halted sales on all automatic variants of the Jimny 3 door model.
However, it says back orders for the manual transmission version of the Jimny 3 door in the Lite and GLX are not at the same level as the automatic versions, so dealer orders can continue for these models.
The national Suzuki distributor asked its dealer network to review colour preferences with customers to see if switching to a single-tone colour is an option to expedite delivery.
Suzuki Australia automobile general manager Michael Pachota says the halt on sales was inevitable.
“The Jimny 3 Door Automatic transmission back orders are through the roof and growing daily,” Pachota says.
“As such, based on forecasts with production versus order bank, we had no choice but to put a pause on taking orders for this variant,” he says.
An update on when sales will resume for this variant will be issued when available.
