Subaru Australia wins award for most satisfied new car customers

Subaru Australia has won the 2023 Canstar Blue Most Satisfied Customers – New Cars award.

It follows Subaru also winning Major Car Manufacturer of the Year in the 2021 Roy Morgan Annual Customer Satisfaction Awards.

In the latest Canstar Blue ratings, Australian consumers rated Subaru as the top automotive brand, awarding it five stars across key categories, including reliability, driving experience, value for money, features, appearance, upgrades and extras, and overall satisfaction.

Subaru was the only automotive brand in Australia to receive perfect scores for the reliability and driving experience of its cars.

It was selected after an extensive survey, in which Australian Subaru customers provide invaluable feedback on the cars they purchased in the last five years.

The winning automotive brand is ultimately determined by the one that achieved the highest overall satisfaction rating, once all the scores from the overall satisfaction criteria have been combined and averaged.

“Winning the 2023 Canstar Blue Most Satisfied Customers – New Cars award is a tremendous honour for our expansive nationwide Retailer network, comprising 122 Subaru Dealerships,” Subaru Australia general manager Blair Read says.

“This award underscores Subaru’s commitment to our customers’ needs and striving to deliver the best possible ownership experience. It also serves as a testament to Subaru’s pursuit of engineering vehicles to not only meet but exceed the expectations of owners,” he says.

Canstar Blue editor in chief Christine Seib applauded Subaru’s commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.

“More than half of Australian new car buyers save up their own hard-earned cash to purchase their vehicle outright and are looking for an upgrade on their existing vehicle, which indicates buyers are keen not just for a good deal but on a car that offers something a little special,” Seib says.

“Subaru delivered just that in 2023, according to its own customers, who gave their new Subaru vehicle top marks for value for money, as well as its features, looks and the upgrades and extras that came with it.

“As the winner of Canstar Blue’s Most Satisfied Customers – New Cars award, Subaru was also the only vehicle manufacturer to receive five stars for the reliability and driving experience of its cars, as well as in the all-important overall satisfaction category.

“Given that the average spend by Aussie consumers on a new car is more than $37,000, this is a purchase that buyers should rightly expect to be highly satisfied with – and Subaru ensured they were,” she says.
