The 35th annual Speed Week will be held March 3-8 at Lake Gairdner in South Australia next year.
So says the Dry Lakes Racers Australia (DLRA) which expects entries to be open from October 1 this year to January 31, 2025.
A wide range of cars, motorcycles and trucks from modern to turn-of-the-century is likely at the event.
Record rain forced cancellation in 2022 and the weather prompted some changes in 2023 while this year’s event was cancelled due to a storm washing out the lake and access road after a final inspection, but the DLRA is hoping those rare events are now all in the past.
South Australia’s COVID-19 requirements were lifted in late November 2022 with the DLRA then suggesting people stay home if sick and get tested if they have COVID-19 symptoms.
Spectators are encouraged at Speed Week, the DLRA saying they should be largely seif-sufficient.
