The head of Mercedes-Benz Australia/Pacific (MBAuP) Florian Seidler is returning to Germany to take up the role of head of sales operations for Mercedes-Benz Europe and Smart.
Mercedes-Benz Cars Australia head of media relations Jerry Stamoulis confirmed the move to local automotive media outlet Go Auto.
Stamoulis says Seidler will begin his new role at the start of 2024 and his successor at MBAuP will be announced closer to that time.
Seidler took up the position as MBAuP managing director and chief executive in 2021, succeeding the long-standing Horst Von Sanden who held the position for more than 20 years.
Prior to coming to MBAuP, Seidler was the Mercedes-Benz Cars overseas region head of sales marketing based in Stuttgart, for more than three years, and he was previously the chief executive of Mercedes-Benz South Africa from 2012 to 2017.
Seidler initially joined Mercedes-Benz in 2006 and held different positions within the German own retail and wholesale organisation.
