A Formula edition of the Renault Trafic van has been developed, 80 of which have just landed in Australia,

The special edition van celebrates delivery of the first Trafics to the Renault Sport Formula 1 team, where they are used for parts delivery.

Time is critical when it comes to getting them built and tested, Renault says. The vans are also used for new parts to be delivered to the test or race track, when the team is competing in Europe.

“These limited-edition models are easy to identify from the exterior colour, with a choice of black or grey,” Renault LCV senior model line manager Lyndon Healey says.

The colours are enhanced with yellow Renault Sport F1 highlights.

Additional comfort and convenience features, plus short and long wheelbase variants, are included.

The full exterior pack for the Formula Edition comprises a body coloured front bumper, rear light surrounds and door rail, black-painted 17 inch ‘Cyclade’ alloy wheels with yellow centre caps, a black Renault diamond bonnet badge, yellow upper and lower grille inserts, yellow fog lamp surrounds, ‘Formula Edition’ side stripes and an anti-theft spare wheel holder.

Inside, there is a heated driver’s seat, dark cloth upholstery, a media navigation system with seven-inch touchscreen, premium dashboard layout with storage compartment, chrome instrument panel surround, gloss black side air vent surrounds, leather covered gear selector with chrome-plated trim, chrome-plated speaker surround, ‘Formula Edition’ floor mats, wide-view mirrors, a deadlocking security system and LED ceiling lights.

The manufacturer’s list price (MLP) is $41,990 for the twin turbo short wheelbase model, while the long wheelbase version is priced from $43,490 MLP.

These Formula edition vehicles have a national drive-away price of $41,490 and $42,990 for ABN holders until June 30.
