Former Australian treasurer Peter Costello is the keynote speaker at the 2017 Australian Automotive Dealer Association (AADA) national dealer convention in Sydney on September 19 and 20.
The association is expecting record numbers at the new billion-dollar International Convention Centre (ICC) Sydney, Darling Harbour. Other guest speakers include federal minister for urban infrastructure Paul Fletcher, and Australian Competition and Commission head Rod Sims.
Under the theme ‘Advancing Innovation, Technology and Engagement’, AADA has a program of workshops and guest speakers designed to help dealers and key staff adapt to the rapidly changing pace of technological advancement and its impact.
AADA chief executive officer David Blackhall encourages all dealers to attend and bring along key members of staff in their sales, service, aftermarket, and marketing departments.
“As usual, we have put together an outstanding program of compelling and inspiring speakers, experts in all aspects of dealership operations, marketing, new technology and media, business, and the world at large,” he says.
“Our social program is always a highlight, with Ella Hooper this year becoming the latest in a long line of Australian and international stars to entertain delegates.”
The 2017 expo will be the largest yet, showcasing the latest and greatest products and services designed to provide dealerships with the cutting edge.
A three-track program of workshops has been developed by the AADA, featuring guests, keynote speakers and policy sessions to comprehensively cover the myriad issues and challenges facing dealers.
Award-winning entrepreneur and technology leader Jared Hamilton demonstrates in the AADA’s super session about how a customer’s choice of dealership is influenced by social media, such as Facebook and Google reviews. He will explain why it is crucial for dealers to invest in maintaining and promoting their online presence.
The AADA general session features a variety of speakers covering a range of issues pertinent to all aspects of the modern dealership. It includes the association’s annual general meeting.
Paul Fletcher’s address comprises part of this session, with the balance made up of talks from some AADA leaders and key policy and advocacy thinkers.
The AADA expo is open 6.30am-10pm on the Tuesday, and 6.30am-7pm on the Wednesday.
