Polestar is partnering with Surfers for Climate, providing a Polestar 2 EV to the Australian climate action charity working to educate, inspire, and mobilise surfers to care about climate change.
With parallel ambitions for sustainability and climate action, Polestar says it will support Surfers for Climate with the EV, enabling the team to travel around Australia engaging with surfing communities while demonstrating the benefits of electric mobility.
Surfers for Climate aims to end new fossil fuel projects in Australian oceans by 2028, helping coastal communities embrace renewable energy projects, and advocate for stronger marine protection around Australia.
“Polestar and Surfers for Climate share the belief that ambition without action isn’t enough,” says Polestar Australia marketing head Jonathan Williams.
Surfers for Climate chief executive Josh Kirkman says: “We need to travel across this vast country to engage with surfing communities on climate change, and doing so in an electric vehicle significantly minimises our environmental impact.”
