Peugeot 408 GT Fastback plug-in hybrid (PHEV) pre-orders are open, ahead of the official on-sale and delivery of customer orders in Q3 2024, says Peugeot Australia.

Initially launching in the Australian market as a single PHEV variant, the Peugeot 408 is priced at $67,990 (manufacturers list price).

To place a pre-order, customers should contact their local authorised Peugeot retailer or reserve online at www.peugeot.com.au, with demonstrator models at select retailers.

“The Peugeot 408 is an artful statement where sleek design intertwines seamlessly with intuitive technology,” says Peugeot Australia managing director Kate Gillis.

It features i-Cockpit, a central 10-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity plus FM/DAB and 3D Satellite Navigation, 20-inch Monolithe diamond cut alloy wheels, aerodynamics, a range of colours, and an optional sunroof ($2000).

The driver and front passenger seats have electronic adjustment, lumbar adjustment, heated and a multi-point massage function.

The four-cylinder 132kW 1.6 litre turbocharged PureTech petrol engine combined with an 81kW electric motor, coupled with an e-EAT8 eight-speed automatic gearbox, offers 165kW power and 360Nm torque, while the 12.4kWh capacity lithium-ion battery provides about 60km (WLTP) electric-only range.

A brake button activates regenerative braking, and a Driving Mode selector includes Hybrid, Electric and Sport.

A mode two charging cable is standard, supplied with the vehicle at time of delivery. The on-board charger unit restricts the accepted charger to 3.7kW.

Indicative zero to 100% charging times are 3.5 hours using a single phase 32A Wallbox (7.4kW) and three phase 16A Wallbox (11kW), and about six hours using a domestic 10A electric plug (2.3kW).

A comprehensive range of latest generation driving assistance systems are among driving aids and technologies included as standard.

The Peugeot 408 PHEV empowers owners with Connected Services, or an internet-connected vehicle, with a range of navigation tasks, including a TomTom internet-connected navigation subscription service which can help find car parks, fuel stations (and pricing), traffic updates and routing,

Maps are updated over the air.

Connected Services requires subscription through the Peugeot website or the myPeugeot app and is free for three years from the vehicle warranty start date. Customers have the option to purchase additional incremental one- or three-year extensions to the complimentary three-year period.

The ‘OK Peugeot’ voice command can be used to improve safety and ease of use while driving and provides access to all requests relating to infotainment functions. This system is enhanced when used with online Connected Services which employs SoundHound – a voice recognition provider for advanced native voice recognition.

The system also includes on-board documentation and tutorials.

Peugeot’s five-year/unlimited kilometre warranty, eight-year/160,000km battery warranty and five-year roadside assistance are standard and a range of finance offers are available.

Pre-paid service plans are available too.
