Mitsubishi Motors Australia Limited (MMAL)  has announced pricing details of the New-Gen Triton ahead of its market launch in February, 2024.

“The New-Gen Triton presents another step-change for the Mitsubishi Motors product portfolio,” said MMAL chief executive Shaun Westcott says.

“Being a core market for the Mitsubishi Motors brand, and with Triton being a core model for Australia, the importance of this vehicle cannot be overstated, and we are very proud to have played a key role in its development.

“Following the success of the new Outlander, the New-Gen Triton is another huge step forward for Mitsubishi,” he says.

New Bi-Turbo drivetrain boosts power and torque

New-Gen Triton has a new 2.4-litre Bi-Turbo diesel engine developed by Mitsubishi Motors. This power unit employs two turbochargers, one small for fast response at low revs, and a larger turbo to fortify the top end – to develop 150kW of power at 3500rpm, with a 470Nm peak torque figure that’s available from just 1500rpm to 2750rpm.

The new engine and gearbox combination is designed to produce exceptional response and low-rev pulling power and a linear torque delivery throughout the rev range, while also improving efficiency over the previous generation. A new engine Auto Stop & Go System further supports efficiency.

Fuel economy and CO2, according to ADR 81/02, are listed as follows:

Both 4 x 2 and 4 x 4 drivetrains will be available with an updated six- speed automatic transmission. A six-speed manual will also be offered on some variants, post-launch.

At launch, Double Cab and Club Cab Pickup variants will be available, with Cab-Chassis variants to be added post-launch.

New-Gen Triton follows a highly recognisable model structure, offering GLX, GLX+, GLS and GSR grades, and all are comprehensively equipped as standard.
