An electric SUV Airtrek has been unveiled at Auto Guangzhou by Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) through its GAC Mitsubishi Motors Co. (GMMC) joint vehicle production and sales venture in China.
Its 70kWh battery in the floor’s centre provides about 520km range under the China light-duty vehicle test cycle (CLTC).
The Airtrek has been developed based on the concept of an “e-cruising SUV,” with “e” representing “electric” (EV), “expanding” (expanding life with a car), and “expressive” (expressing the MMC uniqueness).

The interior is open and spacious, featuring a horizontal instrument panel that offers a broad field of vision and makes it easy to grasp the EV’s position. With its long wheelbase and broad overall width, the new model also offers plenty of room for the whole family to ride in comfort.
To create a high-class feel, soft padding is introduced for the parts that passengers touch, and stitches are used in every detail

“We named the new electric SUV Airtrek so that many customers can enjoy adventurous, active driving with this pure EV,” MMC president and chief executive Takao Kato says.
“We hope the all-new Airtrek will help expand the horizons of customers in China, where environmental initiatives are accelerating with new energy vehicles, especially EVs.”
Few other details about the Airtrek are yet available, including the price and whether it will be offered outside of China.
