A looming increase to the Clean Car fee on July 1 has driven an increase in registrations of light commercial vehicles in New Zealand for the month of May 2023.
The Motor Industry Association of New Zealand says that commercial vehicle sales surged in May 2023, and registrations of 3788 units were up 37.1% (1026 units) on May 2022.
Unsurprisingly, the Ford Ranger led the market with 983 units registered, and the Toyota Hilux took third place overall with 746 units.
