Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is the new title sponsor for Jaguar TCS Racing which has revealed Jaguar’s I-Type 5 Formula E race car in revised livery for season eight of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship beginning in Saudi Arabia on January 28 and 29 next year.
Jaguar TCS Racing continues with the driver pairing of Kiwi Mitch Evans and Briton Sam Bird who helped the team to its most successful Formula E season last year, finishing runner-up in the Teams’ World Championship.

“During the previous five seasons we have shown consistent improvement and it was testament to the team that we could celebrate second in the championship last season,” Evans says.
Additional prominence has been given Jaguar TCS Racing with Jaguar Land Rover’s newly launched motorsport division as part of its “Reimagine Racing” strategy to test, learn, develop, collaborate, and share innovations including cutting-edge EV technologies across Jaguar Land Rover to benefit future road car development, especially with Jaguar’s all-electric luxury brand from 2025.
Global IT services, consulting and business solutions organisation Tata Consultancy Services is also expanding its sponsorship portfolio in endurance running events which includes the TCS New York City Marathon, TCS London Marathon, TCS Amsterdam Marathon and more – and now has a long-term multi-year partnership with Jaguar TCS Racing to become a global showcase for electrification.

As part of the reorganisation, James Barclay becomes managing director of Jaguar Land Rover Motorsport Limited in addition to his role as team principal of Jaguar TCS Racing.
Jaguar Land Rover chief executive Thierry Bolloré becomes the chairman of the new organisation.
Jaguar TCS Racing’s car refinements for the new season include revisions in several software areas to improve energy management to make it faster and more efficient.
The team has also been simulating the new qualifying system and practising in-garage pitstops, which will become a significant feature of the first 10 minutes of the new format.
Uncommon is the new official teamwear partner, with every item made using recycled materials as part of the team’s “Race to Innovate” platform.
Welcoming Tata Consultancy Services, James Barclay says launch day is always exciting as the team looks forward to the possibilities of the upcoming season after months of hard work behind the scenes.
He says the aim is to get more points, wins and ultimately the world championship.
“During the off-season we’ve introduced a new motorsport executive committee dedicated to maximising the opportunities of our motorsport activity, including technology transfer from race to road. It is very special to be an integral part of reimagining Jaguar’s all-electric future.”
Street racing in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia, in January marks the first of 16 races in 12 cities during the new season.
