Foton’s T5 EV Pantech truck will be at the new TruckShowX event at Cape Schanck in Victoria from May 13-14.

Show visitors can see the Foton e-truck in the drive program, set to take in the spectacular roads of the Mornington Peninsula.

Syndey-headquartered Foton Mobility Distribution’s light duty vehicles general manager Bill Gillespie is a guest speaker at the event in conjunction with Revora, specialists in green refrigerated road transport solutions.

They are part of a comprehensive roster of special presentations offering insights into the new technology.

“Here at Foton, we can’t wait to get to TruckShowX and showcase our latest technology to an audience looking to expand their understanding of the possibilities now available to the Australian transport sector,” says Gillespie.

“For many final mile applications, EV solutions truly stack up from technical, financial, payload and performance perspectives, which fleets can fully understand when they take the wheel of a T5 EV.

“In the short time we have been available in the Australian market, we have seen an outstanding response to our offering.”

The Foton T5 EV topped the 2023 all-electric sales charts locally with an adaptable package for an array of final applications, including a ready-to-go Australian-made tipper, aluminium work tray, or in dry or refrigerated freight formats.

Its EV 3500kg braked towing capacity makes the T5 EV a practical alternative for municipalities, landscape companies, infrastructure support, construction specialists and more, says Foton.

“Another strength of the T5 EV is its adaptability, with the model available with a rated GVM of 4500kg for car licence operation or 6000kg for light rigid licenced drivers, with either option allowing for towing.”

Foton says uptime isn’t compromised for the model, with DC fast charging allowing for full recharging in 1.5 hours, or alternatively the standard 11kW AC onboard charger can fully recharge the drive battery in 7.2 hours, allowing for overnight turnarounds.

The T5 EV has a fully loaded 180km range and offers a full safety suite, including a low-speed pedestrian warning system, a comprehensive electronic braking and stability support package, dual SRS airbags, reversing radar, and buzzer.

Supported by a nationwide dealer network from Cairns to Perth, all Foton EV trucks are backed by a five-year/200,000km vehicle warranty and an eight-year/300,000km traction battery warranty.

They are supported by 24/7 roadside assistance provided by NTI Truck Assist.
