China’s XPeng will debut a flying car and four EVs at the Melbourne Electric SUV Expo, August 9-11.
XPeng, through its Australian retailer, importer, and distributor TrueEV, says it will debut the AeroHT X2 two-seater electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) flying car at the expo.
The X2 combines advanced electric propulsion with autonomous flight technology and is designed for eco-friendly city travel with a sleek and compact design, says The Driven.io, adding XPeng will also have its G6, G9, P7, and X9 EVs at the expo.
“The partnership with TrueEV in Australia is recognised as a significant step forward in our global expansion strategy,” says XPeng international markets general manager Alex Tang.
TrueEV says it will debut XPeng’s G6 SUV model in Australia by Q4, 2024, the EV underpinned by XPeng’s “Smart Electric Platform Architecture (SEPA) 2.0 platform”.
XPeng has also partnered with Volkswagen Group for a roll out of next generation intelligent EVs.
