AChery Australia has confirmed specifications for its first all-electric model, the Omoda E5.
The Omoda E5 will join the petrol-powered Omoda 5, Tiggo 7 Pro and Tiggo 8 Pro Max in local showrooms this September.
Pricing will be announced closer to the launch.
The E5 is powered by a single electric motor that produces 150kW power and 340Nm of torque and offers a driving range of up to 430km (WLTP).
Arriving in two variants (BX and EX), both come equipped with a single electric motor, producing 150kW and 340Nm, with power sent to the front wheels.
Accelerating from 0-100km in 7.6 seconds, Chery Australia says the E5 offers brisk performance with power consumption of only 155Wh/km. It can be DC-charged from 30-80% in under 30 minutes via a DC fast charger.
The Omoda E5 also has a maximum towing capacity of 750kg.
It is designed to impress across both variants, with all the latest technology expected from Chery vehicles.
This includes dual 12.3-inch screens (instrument cluster and infotainment) taking centre stage inside the cabin, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, offline navigation, a premium Sony Sound system with up to 8 speakers, and the availability of multi-colour ambient lighting along with a powered sunroof.
Chery’s voice command system is also present, with drivers able to control features such as changing radio stations, opening windows and setting the climate without taking their hands off the steering wheel.
The Omoda E5 has seven airbags and it is also equipped with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), integrating 18 kinds of intelligent driving assist functions, including adaptive cruise control (ACC), autonomous emergency braking (AEB) and lane-keeping assistance (LKA). There is also the inclusion of a full-size spare wheel.
An 8-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty covers the battery, while the vehicle is backed up by Chery’s 7-year/unlimited kilometre warranty, 7-year capped price servicing and up to 7 years of roadside assistance.
Building on the design of the ICE Omoda 5, the E5 features a pronounced grille, which houses the CCS2 charging port, unique 18-inch alloy wheels, twin rear spoilers (roof and boot lid), LED head and tail lights, plus DRLs.
Five distinct colours are also offered. This includes Titan Green, Lunar White, Saturn Silver, Space Black and Martian Red. There’s also the option of a black roof on the EX model Titan Green and Lunar White models.
