Bunnings may expand its automotive range that includes EV charging equipment.
Bunnings Australia and New Zealand managing director Michael Schneider is reported as earlier saying a bigger range of automotive accessories will be released following success with Bunnings’ expansion into pet goods.
That includes stocking EV charging cables, the Australian Financial Review and Australia’s The New Daily say.
Bunnings’ move into pet care in 2023 contributed to a 2.1% growth in same-store sales despite the retail recession, they say. Parent company Wesfarmers is said to be expanding its “addressable market.”
EVs are reportedly about 10-12% of the overall car market and expected to rise to 20-25% within three years.
