Volkswagen’s ID.Buzz will go on sale in Australia before Christmas, priced from $79,990 for the ID. Buzz Cargo van and $87,990 for the ID. Buzz people mover.
The brand’s new halo range is priced under the $91,387 threshold for Australia’s Luxury Car Tax (LCT), so Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles director Ryan Davies anticipates the almost 7000 expressions of customer interest received to date will rapidly increase.
“Many Australians have a deep emotional and historical connection with Volkswagen vans and people movers,” he says.
“We’re delighted to deliver the highly desirable BEV (battery electric vehicle) reinventions of those classics.
“Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ first fully electric range gives us a capability to supply families and fleets alike with a vehicle that has been highly anticipated.”
Four variants of the 2025 ID.Buzz range are due, three reported by drive.com.au to be eligible for fringe benefit tax (FBT) exemption, plus an all-wheel-drive GTX due in January 2025.
It says an Electric Kombi is also expected in December.
