A new online platform for consumers to research the price of new cars, TheBeep.com.au, launched in March 2024.

It was jointly founded by Robert Leigh and Shane Riley, who share more than 35 years of automotive experience.

TheBeep.com.au is a free-to-use website that helps consumers analyse historical vehicle pricing data and find the best car deal.

“We developed The Beep to help new car buyers stay informed about what’s happening in the Australian automotive market and make their car buying journey easier and more enjoyable,” says The Beep co-founder and director Robert Leigh.

Central to The Beep is the vehicle price tracker. It’s an interface that enables consumers to analyse the drive-away price of over 250 vehicle models currently available in the Australian market. With drive-away pricing varying in each state and territory, all locations are selectable and will automatically adjust the data shown.

To help consumers access data quickly, vehicle pricing is displayed in a chart and data table form and optimised for viewing on any device or platform. The latest up-to-date vehicle pricing can be found alongside a historical view of price changes over a selectable period (1 year, six months, one month or year to date).

From here, consumers can discover influential pricing trends from high points, low points, and averages, as well as a quick snapshot view to see if they are getting the best possible offer from the dealer or car maker in seconds.

Pricing data is also shown on an aggregated level with the average drive-away price available for the total market (all brands combined) and 30 individual car brands. This provides a unique view of the market trends and how affordable certain brands are.

Another key feature is the ability to compare models. Compare up to four vehicle models of any brand and viewed in a simple format to help make fast decisions. It’s a consumer’s vehicle price book and saves time browsing multiple websites.

The vehicle price tracker helps consumers stay informed about what’s happening in the automotive market but helps provide an edge when it’s time to negotiate and buy. With just a few clicks, consumers now have the power to have all the information they need when purchasing a new vehicle.

Offers and deals tracker

The Beep offers an up-to-date and easily searchable database of Australia’s nationally advertised automotive offers, promotions, and sales campaigns. There are usually 100 current vehicle offers to browse at any point. There is also the ability to view expired offers provided previously.

This one unique place to browse multiple offers from varying manufacturers means consumers don’t have to go hunting around various websites for the best deals and can easily compare and find the right deal. This is also the first time this collated view has been offered to end consumers at no cost.
