Right-hand drive versions of the just-announced Chevrolet Corvette Z06 mid-engined supercar will go on sale in Australia in 2023, General Motors Speciality Vehicles has announced.
Pricing, the number of cars allocated to Australia, and the model’s expected arrival date will be announced next year.
The Z06 is powered by a hand-built, all-new naturally aspirated flat-plane crankshaft LT6 5.5-litre DOHC V8 that can rev to 8600rpm.
Each motor will have a plaque on the intake manifold with the signature of the technician who hand-built it.
Chevrolet will build the Corvette Z06 at its factory in Bowling Green, Kentucky, with left-hand drive production starting in the middle of 2022, and right-hand drive beginning several months later.

The Z06 builds on the mid-engined C8 Stingray which is about to hit Australian roads.
The Z06 has bigger brakes with six-piston front callipers where the Stingray has four-piston units.
It’s 94mm wider than the current Stingray, allowing massive 345-series rear tyres and more airflow through side air vents.
Front wheels are 20-inch, with 21-inch at the rear which Chevrolet says are the biggest ever available on a production Corvette
