Subaru Australia celebrated its 50th year of operations in this country by hosting a media drive event of a different kind.
Guests were handed the keys to some of the company’s treasured vehicles from its museum collection to experience unique their boxer-engine goodness.
Subaru Australia staff had gathered a selection of historically important vehicles including an SVX, a Brumby, and a first-generation Outback for driving duty.
Hosted at a private undisclosed location, the brand also some displayed iconic models from its history such as the 360 microcar and the Impreza STI 22b, which shared centre stage with the all-new Impreza and Solterra ahead of their impending market release.
Subaru Australia managing director Blair Read thanked his team for their effort to create such an experience for the 50 year media drive event.
“Why walk, when you can drive down memory lane to celebrate 50 years of Subaru in Australia,” Read says.
“A big thank you to our host Nicholas for the stunning venue,” he says.
“I still act like a kid in a candy store around these invaluable pieces of history,” Inchcape Australasia national corporate affairs and public relations manager Chloe Fraser says.
“It was also an opportunity to share the story of where Subaru is headed next, an exciting future that builds in this rich history, with the all-new Subaru Impreza and the brand’s first electric vehicle, the Subaru Solterra, on display ahead of their upcoming launches,” she says.
