Australian-bound Ford Rangers are feeling the pinch of the ongoing global semiconductor shortage, with reports this will impact the model’s anti-theft motion sensors.
In a report by Drive.com.au, it claims the Ranger is due to lose a number of hi-tech anti-theft features and heated mirrors until further notice for models arriving here.
That was according to a dealer bulletin on social media which suggested the updated Ranger will no longer be equipped with two hi-tech anti-theft motion sensors from March production onwards.
The anti-theft sensor allows the truck to detect an occupant in the cabin while the doors are locked. The inclination sensor detects when the truck is being jacked up.
