General Motors Australia and New Zealand (GMANZ) says the upcoming Supercars weekend at Tailem Bend will see a trifecta of it marketing activities targeting motorsport fans.

It is launching a new promotion which will see two people and two friends win a final hot lap in a Holden supercar later this year, while off track it is introducing a new range of Chevrolet Racing merchandise as well as the new Corvette Convertible.

“As part of the transition from 50 years of Holden motorsport success to Chevrolet Racing and with the move to the Gen3 Camaro for the 2023 season, there is an opportunity to farewell the Holden Supercar in appropriate style,” Chevrolet Racing general manager Chris Payne says.

“Included in these plans is the chance for two Holden fans to win a money-can’t-buy opportunity – the official final Holden hot lap.

“In a fitting finale, two winners and a friend will go for a ride in a Red Bull Ampol Racing Commodore, enjoying the honour of being part of Holden’s illustrious motorsport history.”

To enter the promotion, fans have to visit Holden Motor Sport and comment on why they should be one of the two people to win the prize.

Entries open this weekend and winners will be announced on Sunday 9 October – Bathurst race day.

GMSV is also providing a new C8 Corvette Convertible as the official course car for the support categories, including Porsche Carrera Cup.

“The racetrack is arguably the natural home of the Corvette, it will be great to see our first-ever registered Convertible out and about over the weekend,” GMSV director Joanne Stogiannis says.

“It will be an opportunity for fans to get up close to the new model and admire it in the metal and also a chance for people to see it during the broadcast.”

Part of any race weekend experience is buying merchandise, and to coincide with the Tailem Bend round the team at Chevrolet Racing have released a variety of new items.

The expansion of the range will carry the fans into the next era of motorsport with the introduction of the Gen3 Camaro.

Available at the track and online at Chevrolet Racing, new items include new headwear, polos, outerwear etc displaying the iconic Chevrolet Racing graphic.

“We’re about to embark on an exciting new chapter in motorsport in Australia and New Zealand and there’s no better way for fans to show their support than with items from the new merchandise range,” Payne says.
