The new Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid is the second of three hybrid models Porsche will be introducing during 2023.

The plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) SUV is available from $288,400 in Australia, while the coupé version starts at $297,200 (recommended retail price before statutory on-road and dealer delivery charges).

The Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid’s V8 and electric motor generate 544kW power and 950Nm torque and has a 25.9kWh battery allowing greater range (unspecified) and faster charging.

Porsche debuted its new Cayenne in early 2023 and has now produced the revised third generation SUV.

The Turbo E-Hybrid accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and reaches a 295km/h top speed on the track under test conditions.

Compared to its predecessor, the new Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid offers considerably greater electric range and shorter charging times, a new 11kW on-board charger allowing under 2.5 hours charging at a suitable wall charger or charging station.

Both new models have as standard the adaptive air suspension with two-chamber, two-valve technology, enhancing comfort and safety.

Porsche torque vectoring plus (PTV Plus) is also standard in the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid, with the rear-axle steering feature available as an option.

Both body variants bear the distinctive front-end styling reserved for Turbo models, with enlarged cooling air intakes accented by shiny black air blades.

Wheel arch trims, and exterior-colour rear bumper further underscore the performance-focused character of the model which also includes two twin tailpipes in brushed stainless steel and red brake calipers.

Inside, aluminium dashboard and door panel trim inlays feature, Race-Tex lines the roof and a heated GT sports steering wheel, a mode switch for fast and direct selection of the desired driving mode, and 18-way adaptive and adjustable leather sports seats are standard. Alternatively, 14-way adjustable leather comfort seats are also available.

Features introduced in the early 2023 model upgrade are included, such as a new cockpit with an all-digital instrument cluster in a curved and free-standing design with variable display options, a redesigned centre console and the optional passenger display.

In Australia, the new Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid will additionally be equipped with 22-inch 911 Turbo Design wheels with standard tyres (only for the coupé), a panoramic roof system (only for the SUV), Porsche Entry (comfort access), privacy glass, Porsche dynamic chassis control (PDCC), lane change assist, surround view with active parking support, head-up display, adaptive cruise control including emergency stop function and lane keep assist, active lane keeping including crossroad assist as a no-cost option (NCO), front seat ventilation (only for the SUV, NCO for the coupé), side airbags in the rear compartment, four-zone climate control, soft-close doors, and digital radio.
