Nissan Australia has confirmed pricing for the much anticipated Z sports car, the rear-wheel drive follow-up to the 370Z.

When it lands in local showrooms, the Z will be priced from $73,300 (plus on-road costs). This notably undercuts the nameplate’s key rival, the Toyota GR Supra, by more than $10,000.

Entry-level models will come with a six-speed manual gearbox, leather-accented upholstery, launch control, a 12.3-inch digital cluster and 8.0-inch touchscreen.

A nine-speed automatic transmission sourced from Mercedes-Benz will also be available.

Nissan Australia has also confirmed a flagship variant named the Z Proto. Its spec echos many elements from the prototype vehicle Nissan showcased extensively prior to the model’s formal reveal.

It comes exclusively in Ikazuchi Yellow with a black roof. It also gets a “bespoke” interior with yellow highlights, and forged 19-inch bronze wheels paired with yellow brake calipers. It is priced from $80,700.

Both models come equipped with a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 producing 298kW of power and 475Nm of torque.

“I know Australian fans of the Z family have been waiting patiently for further details about this impressive new sports coupe, and I’m thrilled to be able to confirm pricing and further specification details for our market,” says Nissan Australia Managing Director, Adam Paterson.

“The fastest, most powerful and most exciting Z car ever is now ready to launch in Australia, and I can’t wait for people to climb behind the wheel of this new icon.”
