The MG4 will be revealed in Sydney at the Fully Charged Live show featuring “almost every EV” on March 11 and 12.

Alongside the first public preview of the MG4, MG Motor Australia will show its new ZS EV with 440km range (WLTP).

“MG Motor Australia is putting our customers’ priorities at the centre of our soon to be released MG4 and current ZS EV so we can continue providing the best driving experience possible and make EVs’ more accessible to all Australians,” says MG Motor Australia chief executive Peter Ciao.

He says the MG4 “will speak to many people’s needs and wants in Australia and New Zealand as it has with other markets around the world”.

“The MG4 is the first MG to be based on our EV-only MSP (Modular Scalable Platform). This introduction of our EV-only platform signals our ongoing commitment to ‘Take Charge’ and intention to move toward an EV future.”

Ciao says MG Motor has also fast tracked the arrival of its long range ZS EV with a larger 72kW battery pack and test drives will be provided.

BYD is offering test drives of its Atto 3, as is the show’s Sustainability Partner with the Polestar 2 as part of the Watt Drive? test drives.

Fully Charged Live Australia will ensure it has “almost every EV available” through favourite features including Electric Alley (currently available cars), Electric Launchpad (cars that are coming soon) the Electric and Eclectic zone (electric conversions) and the Tesla Owners’ zone.

Founder Robert Llewellyn (Red Dwarf, Scrapheap Challenge) and China EV expert Elliot Richards headline the show at the ICC in Sydney.

Australian YouTubers including Simone Annan (CarTell TV), Sam Evans (Electric Viking) and Rosemary Barnes (Engineering with Rosie) host some sessions.

More than 10,000 consumers are expected there, with five more shows planned around the world in 2023.

As well as EVs, the event has clean energy and home energy technologies on display.

Ticket holders can access an array of features, including the Home Energy Advice Team (H.E.A.T.) powered by Origin Energy, Micro Machines for boards, bikes and scooters; the Family Fun Zone and the Electric Café.

More than 40 live sessions will be held across two stages – the Giga Theatre – powered by Polestar, and the Mega Theatre – powered by Enphase Energy.

Check out the Fully Charged Show and Everything Electric Show on YouTube this February and March for more than 15 episodes and podcasts filmed in Australia, as part of the Fully Charged Live campaign.

“I’d like to express our gratitude to all of our sponsors and exhibitors for making this possible, not least the NRMA and I’d like to extend a special shoutout to the Electric Vehicle Council too,” says Llewellyn, adding he’s just bought an MG4 which is waiting for him in Britain.
