Queensland-based Triple Eight Race Engineering (Australia) Pty Ltd has been appointed by Mercedes-AMG to become its Pacific hub to support motorsport customers in Australia and New Zealand with spare parts and repairs and rebuilds.

The new motorsport hub also strengthens the Mercedes-AMG brand’s presence in the region and further supports Mercedes-Benz Australia/Pacific with race cars and know-how for the implementation of AMG Driving Academy activities.

Triple Eight is also working closely with the Affalterbach-based development partner HWA AG to support any and all Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing Teams throughout the region.

As well as supplying spare parts and consumables, Triple Eight Race Engineering with the support of HWA AG and Mercedes-AMG will also offer repair and rebuild services for the customer racing team GT3 and GT4 cars.

Furthermore a spare parts truck will guarantee on-site support with parts supply and engineering know-how at selected race and test events in Australia and New Zealand.

Triple Eight will also continue to compete in races as a Customer Team and/or Performance Team of Mercedes-AMG.

It is also authorised to offer test drive opportunities to Mercedes-AMG GT3 and GT4 customers, and to oversee provision of motorsport experiences in conjunction with the AMG Driving Academy

Triple Eight has multiple title wins in the Australian Supercars Championship, as well as numerous achievements in GT racing. Since 2019, it has run the Mercedes-AMG GT3 in championship events and enduros.

In 2020, competing in the Bathurst 12-Hour Race with Performance Team status and extended works support, Triple Eight’s entry finished third overall.

The new motorsport hub ensure customer teams in Australia and New Zealand will receive more direct and close support. Customers also benefit from comprehensive service that, in cooperation with HWA AG, also includes engineering services.

Long-standing HWA expert, Andrew Barrett, will remain on duty as a support engineer.
