Maserati’s first engineering development “mule” for its all-new engine drove out of the Modena factory’s Viale Ciro Menotti gates today.
Like many sports cars, the experimental “mule” vehicles has a mid-mounted engine.
The new Maserati-developed engine features an innovative combustion system and will become the forefather of a new engine family exclusively for the brand’s vehicles.
The “mules” have a special livery that echoes the “Save the Date” teaser sent out ahead of the event scheduled for May 2020.
Data acquired through the distance driven by the mules will be integrated with the experience gathered in the Maserati Innovation Lab driving simulators. It will then be used to fine-tune and develop the prototypes with final bodywork and mechanics.
