Three Mercedes-AMG models have received an Edition 55 makeover to mark the 55th birthday of the performance sub-brand.

These special models include the Mercedes-AMG A 45 S 4Matic+ Edition 55, the Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 S 4Matic+ Edition 55 and the Mercedes-AMG G 63 Edition 55.

Australian customers will be able to place an order this week at their local retailer or at the Mercedes-Benz online shop

One of the world’s hottest hatches just became even more desirable according to Mercedes-AMG.

The addition of an AMG Aerodynamics package comprises a front apron with a larger front splitter and additional flics, an AMG rear wing, deflector elements at the simulated side air outlets of the rear apron, and the diffuser blade, all painted in high-gloss black. Developed in the wind tunnel, these components serve to improve driving characteristics at high speeds.

The AMG Night Package II adds model badges on the boot lid and wings in high-gloss black. Other distinguishing features include the paint finish in a choice of cosmos black metallic or digital white metallic, finished with Edition exterior decals. The 19‑inch AMG cross-spoke forged wheels are painted in matt grey.

The interior is characterised by the contrast of black and red. AMG Performance front seats are upholstered in two-tone red/black leather. The AMG Performance steering wheel in DINAMICA microfibre includes an Edition 55 badge. AMG door sill panels with red illuminated AMG lettering and black AMG floor mats with Edition 55 lettering woven in red visibly enhance the special models right down to the footwell.

The exclusive ambience is rounded off by AMG trim elements in dark brushed aluminium in the Edition 55 design, with accents in black/red and an AMG logo.

An added bonus is AMG Real Performance Sound, which allows the choice of a subtly sporty sound inside the cabin, or an emotive motorsport soundtrack.

The A 45 S 4Matic+ Edition 55 also includes a customised AMG indoor car cover in elegant black with a silver-coloured AMG logo.

The special Edition 55 package adds $8900 (MRLP) to the standard list price of $106,900 (MRLP) for the Mercedes-AMG A 45 S 4Matic+ and will go on sale on February 7 from retailers and via the Mercedes-Benz online showroom.

Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 S 4Matic+ Edition 55

The stylish CLA 45 S 4Matic+ scores an attitude adjustment courtesy of the Edition 55 package, which adds the same expansive list of features as those lavished on the A45 S 4MATIC+, making the much-loved model even more eye-catching than ever according to Mercedes-AMG.

The special Edition 55 package adds $8900 (MRLP) to the standard list price of $128,000 (MRLP) for the Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 S 4Matic+. It is available in extremely limited numbers, and is available to purchase exclusively online from February 10.

Mercedes-AMG G 63 Edition 55

The G 63 is idolised around the world for its rugged stance and timeless design, combined with serious off-road ability – yet without compromise on luxurious comfort. The Edition 55 package only serves to make the highly sought-after G 63 even more desirable according to Mercedes-AMG.

The addition of the Night Package and Night Package II further enhances an already-dynamic appearance.

This includes gloss black finishes for the front splitter, trim elements on the louvres in the outer air intakes, plus the inserts in the AMG side sill panels, the beltline trim strip, the window line trim strip and the exterior mirror housings. Tailpipe trims are finished in black chrome, as are the louvres in the AMG-specific radiator grille. Heat-insulating dark tinted glass is added, while model badges on the boot lid and wings in high-gloss black complete the exclusive appearance.

Matte carbon-fibre trim elements and the addition of AMG 22-inch cross-spoke forged wheels bring out even more AMG-inspired attitude.

Inside, the G 63 Edition 55 features an AMG Performance steering wheel in Dinamica microfibre and Nappa leather seats finished in distinctive red and black.

The Edition 55 package adds $29,900 (MRLP) to the standard list price of $365,091 (MRLP) of the Mercedes-AMG G 63. This model will go on sale on February 7 from retailers and via the Mercedes-Benz online showroom.
