Following the launch of the three-row Jeep Grand Cherokee L last year, the two-row Jeep Grand Cherokee  will arrive in Australian dealerships in February, in three trim configurations – Night Eagle ($77,950), Limited ($83,950) and Overland ($98,450).

A new plug-in hybrid powertrain will be offered on the Summit Reserve 4xe model which is scheduled to arrive later this year.

Built at the new Detroit Assembly Complex – Mack, the newest iteration has been designed and engineered to deliver even more of what has made Jeep Grand Cherokee a true global icon in the premium SUV segment.

The newly introduced Overland trim exudes premium character with Nappa leather-trimmed seats, 20-inch wheels and a Dual-Pane sunroof, as well as an extensive list of additional comfort, technology, and assistance features

A new unibody design with enhanced 4×4 capability with an all-new architecture, independent front and rear suspensions and Quadra-Lift air suspension with electronic semi-active damping, delivers up to 276 mm of ground clearance and 610mm of water fording.

“The all-new Grand Cherokee represents a fundamental shift for Jeep as it is the most technologically advanced model we have released. This is our new standard,” Jeep Australia managing director Kevin Flynn says.

“This vehicle is a blend of refined sophistication, dynamic performance, cutting-edge technologies, and unsurpassed levels of elegance. The new Grand Cherokee carries an attractive presence and capability that is uncommon in its segment, unquestionably Jeep brand and unmistakably world class,” he says.

For the first time on a Jeep Grand Cherokee, the front axle is bolted directly to the engine which allows for superior and refined driving dynamics. Every touchpoint uses premium materials, emanating quality and sophistication throughout the vehicle.

Jeep’s off-road prowess is also elevated even further, with the available Quadra-Trac I and Quadra-Trac II 4×4 setups, Quadra-Lift air suspension and Selec-Terrain traction management system already providing the best capability yet in the unique conditions of the Australian outback, as the brand continues its commitment to a thorough domestic product testing program.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee will be available with the 3.6L V6 Pentastar Petrol a powerful, fuel-efficient, and refined engine with proven performance for any driving situation.

New for the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee is a front-axle disconnect. If the vehicle senses that road conditions do not require all-wheel drive, the front-axle disconnect automatically places the Grand Cherokee in two-wheel drive, reducing drag on the driveline and improving fuel economy. Four-wheel drive automatically re-engages when the vehicle senses it is needed.

Underneath the sleek exterior is a new unibody construction which increases rigidity by using lightweight, high-strength aluminum and steel, and incorporates a number of enhancements to improve the ride quality, handling and comfort, while at the same time increasing efficiency and reducing noise and weight.

Fully equipped with an array of advanced safety and security features that assist the driver by enhancing their field of vision, making instrumentation easier to see and enabling collision-avoidance capabilities, on-board operating speeds are now five times faster when compared to the previous generation, courtesy of the latest Uconnect 5 system – the most advanced Jeep connectivity platform yet.

The Grand Cherokee comes with a range of convenient features to keep passengers connected while driving. An available wireless charging pad is provided for the passengers in the front-row and two USB Type C connectors.

Also new for Grand Cherokee is a standard 10.25-inch frameless digital instrument cluster display with nearly two dozen different menus from which the user can select, including driver-assist technologies, such as adaptive cruise control, Drowsy Driver Detection and Traffic Sign Recognition.

It offers unsurpassed space and versatility with 4,095L of total interior passenger volume (+116L over previous generation) and 1,067L of cargo space (+40L).

The Jeep Grand Cherokee will be initially available in Bright White, Velvet Red, Diamond Black, Silver Zynith, Midnight Sky, Rocky Mountain, Hydro Blue or Baltic Grey.
