In the lead up to the official national launch and marketing activities on April 19, Honda Australia has confirmed pricing and specification of the all-new HR-V which are live on its website and customer experience portal.

As part of the pre-launch phase, HR-V display vehicles will be arriving in Honda Centres around the country over the coming weeks.

The third generation of Honda’s Small SUV will be available with advanced two-motor e:HEV (hybrid electric vehicle) powertrain technology for the first time on this model, representing the next step in the brand’s commitment to introduce hybrid variants of each vehicle line with the arrival of every full model change.

When reimagining the HR-V, Honda says that it set out to create a car with a desirable blend of  design, efficiency and usability. Conceived to meet the needs of modern consumers, the new model achieves a balance of SUV styling and spaciousness, with compact dimensions and easy entry and exit for passengers.

The result is a contemporary coupe-SUV body that appeals through the simplicity of its design, while its exceptionally spacious and versatile interior is more user-oriented and comfortable to sit in than ever according to Honda. It says the all-new HR-V also achieves a desirable yet rare combination of premium SUV styling and exceptional space efficiency.

It will be offered in two specification levels with two different powertrains – starting with the Vi X grade powered by an efficient 1.5-litre DOHC i-VTEC petrol engine and rising to the e:HEV L grade fitted with the advanced two-motor hybrid powertrain that delivers refined and responsive performance.

Positioned between the VTi-S and RS grades on the outgoing model, the Vi X is equipped with a range of new features and technologies, including: Honda SENSING suite of driver-assist and safety technologies, agile handling assist system (AHAS), hill descent control, walk-away locking, 9-inch display audio with wireless Apple CarPlay, Satellite navigation, 18-inch alloy wheels, and privacy glass.

Positioned above the outgoing VTi-LX, the new e:HEV L grade extends the equipment list of the Vi X even further, with a host of features, including: blind spot information system, rear cross traffic alert, intelligent speed assist, hands-free power tailgate, acoustic vehicle alerting system (AVAS), auto-dimming rear view mirror, rain sensing wipers, retractable, auto reverse tilting, heated, hydrophilic door mirrors, LED active cornering lights, heated front seats, heated leather-clad steering wheel, acoustic windscreen, rear air vents and USB ports

Available to order at Honda Centres around Australia, the Vi X grade starts the all-new HR-V range with a national drive away price of $36,700*, while the e:HEV L grade comes to market with a national drive away price of $45,000*.

“Repositioned as a sophisticated entry point to the Honda vehicle line-up in Australia, the all-new HR-V represents the beginning of a new chapter for Honda’s small SUV , elevating premium styling and quality alongside the HR-V’s enduring trademarks of spaciousness and versatility,” said Honda Australia Director, Mr. Stephen Collins.

“It successfully extends the Honda brand’s reputation for quality, functionality and practicality, and presents it with an individual and fun style, all within a compact package designed to appeal to modern consumers.”

The 2022 HR-V will be available in a choice of five exterior paint colours. Three pearlescent colours include the all-new Premium Opal, which is the hero colour for the new generation HR-V, along with Platinum White and Crystal Black, which have been carried across to the new model.

The two metallic paint colours are Meteoroid Grey, which was only recently released on Accord, and the lustrous Premium Crystal Red, which was introduced on the 11th-generation Civic late last year.
