General Motors has revealed the new GMC Hummer EV SUV for the first time in China.
The Hummer EV was presented at the China International Import Expo 2022, November 5-10, as part of GM vehicles it intends to market in China through its new business unit The Durant Guild.
The Cadillac Celestiq also made its local debut at the event, GM Authority reports.

It says the Hummer EV SUV is based on the first Hummer EV super truck.
“The Durant Guild, along with its iconic portfolio of global vehicles, is the latest demonstration of GM’s unmatched commitment to China,” says GM executive vice president and GM China president Julian Blissett.
Hummer EV SUV production is expected to start in the first quarter of 2023 at the GM Factory Zero plant in Detroit, the only planned facility to build the Hummer EV line-up, GM Authority explains.
It adds there’s no date set for the official launch and sale of the new GMC Hummer EV SUV or any other vehicle in the model portfolio that The Durant Guild platform is preparing for China.
GM Authority has also reported the Hummer EV SUV and pickup (ute) are sold out for at least two years.
