The Land Rover Defender 110 plug-in electric hybrid will be officially unveiled at futurist conference and festival SXSW Sydney on Thursday October 19, 2023.

Available with the 110-body design, the P400e is capable of being driven in low range purely in EV mode.

Defender House, offering a blend of specially curated events and driving experiences, will also make its Australian debut alongside SXSW Sydney.

From a grassroots start in Austin, Texas, in 1987, to a new, second home in SXSW Sydney the Defender House event will encompass future trends, emerging technology, and networking opportunities.

Singer-songwriter and rapper Tkay Maidza will be performing at Defender House, bringing the world of music and design together.

“Music for me has always been about finding new inspiration, upcoming artists that inspire me,” says Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) Australia managing director Penny Ferguson.

“Embracing the impossible is what binds Defender and music, breaking new ground and embracing all kinds of adventures.”

Defender has partnered with NEL founder and chef Nelly Robinson, offering a sustainably focused menu set for guests who are invited to embark on a test drive around the city and over the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge in the Defender 110 PHEV.

It has 297kW power, can accelerate from zero to 100km/h in 5.6 seconds, has a fuel efficiency of 3.4l/100km and CO2 emissions of 78g/km.

The Defender 110 PHEV can charge from zero to 80% in about 30 minutes using a rapid DC charger rated at 50kW or above. At home, it can charge from zero to 100% in about 2.5 hours using a 7kW AC charger.
