Cox Automotive Australia has announced the appointment of Stephen Lester as its new chief executive effective from November 21, 2022.
Lester is well known to the Australasian new car industry from a previous four-year role as the vice president and managing director of Nissan Motor Company Australia Pty Ltd which he held until August 2021.
Cox Automotive Australia says that Lester brings more than 20 years of experience in the automotive ecosystem gained in Australia, Canada, and New Zealand and it is very much looking forward to welcoming him on board.
Lester began his automotive career in Canada with BMW Group where he served for 13 years before moving to Infiniti Motor Company Canada for nearly four years, before his appointment to Nissan Motor Company Australia.
He was also briefly the director for aftersales and customer experience for the Stellantis conglomerate in Australia before joining Cox Automotive.
