General Motors Speciality Vehicles has issued a recall for the popular mid-engined Chevrolet C8 Corvette.
Impacting 2022 models, the recall concerns a software problem that impacts operation of the headlights, tail lights when the car’s lights are switched into automatic mode.
The recall states that the way the day-time running lights are turned off in automatic mode is now ADR compliant.
“Due to a software issue, when the master light switch is set to automatic light control, the headlights, tail lamps, park lamps and license plate lamps will be turned on and the day time running lamps will be turned off,” reads the recall notice.
“The vehicles are not compliant with the Australian Design Rule (ADR13/00)-Installation of Lighting.”
A total of 109 vehicles, inclusive of all variants of 2022 Corvette, have been affected by the recall.
“Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by General Motors Australia and New Zealand Pty Ltd and requested to contact their local dealer to have the Body Control Module (BCM) updated Free of charge,” GMSV adds.
