BYD’s first global Megastore officially opened to the public at Alexandria, New South Wales, on the weekend of September 16 and 17, providing an immersive experience of cutting-edge electric vehicles, state-of-the-art technologies, and a glimpse into the future of sustainable mobility.
More such BYD stores are expected in Australia, including Brisbane and Melbourne, with announcements likely later this year.
The BYD Seal was introduced at the opening of the Megastore at 494 Gardner Road, and a lucky attendee won a BYD Dolphin Dynamic.
The Alexandria experience centre reimagines the way consumers relate to and acquire EVs, says BYD Australia distributor EVDirect.com chief executive Luke Todd, adding it is among the most successful EV brands in Australia.
About 10,000 units of the BYD Atto 3 have sold and the BYD Dolphin is also expected to do well, selling for about $38,890 drive away.
BYD Australia plans to break a record for the “world’s biggest EV test drive” on September 23, encouraging people to try the BYD Atto 3 at various locations between 8am and 4pm.
Socceroos football legend Tim Cahill was at the Megastore’s launch on September 14.
