Australian online orders for the BYD Atto 3 (Yuan Plus) electric SUV need to be in at EVDirect.com.au by 5pm on March 11 for inclusion in July deliveries.

EVDirect says it’s delighted by the response to the Atto 3’s launch and it’s finalising first production orders with BYD.

“If you have placed an order during our Loyalty Campaign your place in the priority production queue has been confirmed,” it adds.

To meet demand, EVDirect has changed its BYD Experience Centre operating hours.

The Sydney Experience Centre at 50 Riley St, Darlinghurst NSW, is now open Wednesday and Thursday 10am-6pm, Friday and Saturday 10am-8pm and Sunday 10am-4pm.

No appointments necessary and visitors can view the Atto 3 global version, with test drives across Australia expected to be available in May and June this year.

EVDirect and Eagers Automotive have an arrangement to form a new dealer group in which Eagers will have a 49% stake and hold a franchise agreement for at least five years, allowing the BYD Atto 3 to sold through its dealerships as well as online.

The EV has about 480km range and starts at a drive-away price of $44,990.
