
Perth will host events featuring EVs especially for World EV Day on Friday September 9.
The global initiative to celebrate EVs and the transition to sustainable transport is being honoured at Targa West events in Forrest Place, Perth, from 10am to 7pm, with entry free.
The day includes Toceva Racing, Synergy and Horizon Power’s Electric Highway from Kununurra to Esperance powered by renewable energy, the University of Western Australia’s Formula SAE racing car and team, electric classic conversions, FlyOnE’s Pipistrel electric aircraft, Savic Motorcycles’ electric motorcycle and team, electric bikes includes those from Tiller Rides and The Electric Bike Company, and stacks of electric cars.
EV models on show will include those from BMW, Lexus, Tesla, Mini, BYD, Mitsubishi and Audi, the Perth commemoration also supported by the Tesla Owners Club of Australia and the Australian Electric Vehicle Association (AEVA).
AEVA ACT plans a small celebration in Canberra on World EV Day too.
It will host a morning tea or brunch at the National Arboretum café in Forest Drive, Weston Creek, from 9.30am to 11.30am
A media release to note progress being made on EV take-up in the ACT, and in Australia, is also expected from AEVA.
ACE EV Group is honouring the day too, producing Australia’s own first light commercial EVs which it says are now rolling out of its South Australia plant for delivery across Australia.
