
Adelaide-based technician Richard Fergusson who is employed by Eblen Subaru Glenelg has emerged triumphant in the highly-competitive Subaru World Technician competition.
Held in Tokyo, Japan, the event brought together top Subaru technicians from around the globe, each vying for the coveted title in a showcase of automotive skill and expertise
The Subaru World Technician Competition, organised by Subaru Corporation in Japan, is a biennial event that highlights the exceptional talents of Subaru technicians worldwide.
After a four-year hiatus due to the COVID pandemic, the eighth edition of the competition took place on Wednesday June 28, attracting 12 participants from 12 different countries, including Australia.
According to Subaru Australia, Fergusson showcased unparalleled diagnostic skills and mechanical prowess throughout the demanding competition. With rigorous challenges and strict time constraints, it says the participants faced immense pressure while diagnosing complex electrical and mechanical issues.
His expertise, coupled with his ability to perform under demanding circumstances, propelled him to victory, solidifying his status as the world’s finest Subaru technician says the brand.
Fergusson expressed his gratitude on the win.
“Competing in the Subaru World Technician Competition was an incredible experience. The level of competition was exceptionally high, and I am truly honoured to have emerged as the winner. It is a privilege to represent Australia and showcase our automotive excellence on the global stage,” he says.
