ABB will have its Gen 2 Formula E electric race car at the launch of the Fully Charged Live show in Sydney on March 11 and 12.
Reportedly the first time a Formula E car is displayed in Australia, the 2021 car will be at ABB’s stand where the Terra 360 EV charger will be launched.
“Visitors to the show will not only be able to see a Formula E car up close but also experience our entire range of ABB EV charging solutions, including the first Australian showing of one of the world’s fastest and most advanced charging station’s the ABB Terra 360 capable of delivering 100km of range in less than three minutes,” says ABB Australia EV charging marketing manager Steve Amor.
ABB has been the title sponsorship partner of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship Series since 2018 and is this season its official charging supplier.
Solar car racing teams Sunswift (bringing its Sunswift 7), Team Arrow and Aurora also join the EV line-up, with the YouTuber organisers expecting about 15,000 visitors over the two days.
EV test drives are included for visitors, such as the Polestar 2, BYD Atto 3 and MG ZS.
The MG4 will make its first appearance in Australia at the show.
Ticket holders can access an array of features, including the Home Energy Advice Team (H.E.A.T.) powered by Origin Energy, M1cro Machine for boards, bikes and scooters, the Family Fun Zone and the Electric Café.
Attractions also feature more than 30 ‘live sessions’ across two stages, the Giga Theatre (powered by Polestar) and the Mega Theatre (powered by Enphase Energy).
Sessions will be hosted by Fully Charged presenters Robert Llewellyn, Jack Scarlett and Elliot Richards, plus Australian YouTubers Simone Annan (CarTell TV), Sam Evans (Electric Viking) and Rosemary Barnes (Engineering with Rosie).
The buzz around the first Fully Charged Live Australia is higher than any of our previous launch events around the world,” says Fully Charged chief executive Dan Caesar.
“It’s testament to the reputation of the event itself and our audience that we have so many firsts in Sydney.
“By showcasing the current crop of electric cars and these innovative vehicles, some powered purely by the sun, we will show the potential of todays and tomorrows world.”
